Matematica. Passione e conoscenza

Scritti (1975-2016)
  • Paolo De Bartolomeis,
  • Edited by:
  • Fiammetta Battaglia,
  • Antonella Nannicini,
  • Adriano Tomassini,

This work collects most of the scientific publications by Paolo de Bartolomeis, Full Professor of Geometry at the University of Florence from 1980 until his premature death on the 29th November 2016. The articles are published in chronological order. After his first works on Real Analytical Geometry and then on Complex Analysis, the development of his scientific interests intertwines with that of Complex Differential Geometry, together with internationally well-known collaborators. The two volumes constituting this work thus represent a precious reference for those who want to do research on the topics Paolo de Bartolomeis loved so dearly, not only for their scientific content, but also because they tell the story of great passion and uncommon intellectual openness; an extraordinary lesson for those who are approaching or dedicating themselves to research in Mathematics and, in particular, in Geometry.

Fiammetta Battaglia is Associate Professor of Geometry at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science "Ulisse Dini" of the University of Florence. Her work focuses on Complex and Symplectic Geometry, with particular interest in their interrelationships with Convex and Combinatorial Geometry.
Antonella Nannicini is Associate Professor of Geometry at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science "Ulisse Dini" of the University of Florence. Her work focuses on Complex Differential Geometry, in particular on Complex, Quasi Complex and Symplectic Structures on Differentiable Manifolds, Special Metrics and Generalized Complex Geometry.
Adriano Tomassini is Full Professor of Geometry at the Department of Mathematical, Physical and Computer Sciences of the University of Parma. His works focus on Complex Differential Geometry, in particular on Cohomological Properties of Quasi Complex and Complex Manifolds, Special Metrics and Deformations of Complex Structures.
The editors, who were once students of Paolo de Bartolomeis and then became his collaborators, are the authors of several publications. They are members of the College of Supervisors for the assignment of research grants in memory of Paolo de Bartolomeis.
