The volume illustrates the formation process of glottic structures, both in relation to their function, and as a tool for conservative surgery of glottic carcinomas T1 and T2. The anatomical assumptions of the laryngeal functions are highlighted, making it possible to recognise the functional glottic compartments and to provide indications for compartmental conservative surgery. Each chapter describes the condition of the organ and its stages of development with reference to how the adult condition can best be understood through embryology. The description and comment texts introduce images with captions adding further information.
