The starting point is the Progetto di un’architettura istorica. Entwurff einer Historischen Architectur (Vienna 1721) by Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, intended as a mental and monumental mounting for the construction of a new architecture and a new image of the city. Fischer's work is being questioned, first and foremost on the fully compositional dimension of architectural design, therefore according to the multiple relationships with the ancient and the contemporary. Within the wide range of examples in theEntwurff, there was the choice of investigating the issue of the Temple of Solomon, which is also, unsurprisingly, the first monument - almost a founding category - of those illustrated in the work. The Temple of Jerusalem is the beginning of a journey whose narration through images and compositional schemes ends in the text with the Karlskirche in a celestial Vienna.
