My article focuses on the class, its theoretical status, its relationship with reality and its critical potential, also reactivating some Marxian elements. The same questions of gender and race, if intertwined, not in a simple and immediate way but according to a problematization, with class dynamics, have a different meaning compared to what happens if they are assumed starting from an abstract logic of human rights. My article is divided into three parts. The first deals with the relationship between critique of political economy and politics. The second focuses on the consequences of this approach on the statute of the class. In the third part, I highlight the strengths and open problems in the approach outlined.
