Posture is the result of functional interaction between the biomechanical, neurophysiological, psychological and psychomotor components of the individual, highlighted in the static and dynamic positions of the body segments, which can vary in relation to the objectives to pursue and environmental stimuli.
Every modification of the structure implies an adaptation of the Tonic Postural System (TPS) as a whole.
If posture is inadequate, it becomes necessary to intervene to regain a physiological balance.
Movement is at the basis of how the postural pattern is structured and it is through movement that it is possible to intervene on posture in a permanent manner.
This monograph describes the contribution of Applied Human Movement Sciences. Starting from a postural and morphofunctional examination of the individual, it illustrates how to choose the exercises and movement and behavioural strategies for a personalized path to postural re-education and rebalancing in the developmental, adult and elderly stages of life.
