The exhibition and its catalogue illustrate one of the most important core of paintings, now part of the artistic heritage of the University of Florence, housed at Villa La Quiete which once was the Florentine girl’s school of the Montalve Sisters. Among the many works of art by Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio, Botticelli and the family Della Robbia, thanks to the finding of new documentary and attribution evidence, a special focus is given to the complex historical-artistic events and the to the works’ original provenance: the Florentine Dominican monastery of San Jacopo di Ripoli and the church of San Francesco in Montevarchi.
