The monograph is part of the INNOVA CUBA project, a multi-year partnership between ARCS and the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana (OHCH). The aim is to strengthen the preservation, enhancement, and dissemination of Cuban cultural heritage through collaboration between institutions and local communities. A key objective has been to promote the use of technological and methodological innovations in the conservation of built cultural heritage. Various entities were involved, including Assorestauro, Fundación Tecnalia, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, University of Florence, AITR, Arci Toscana, and DiaCon srl, already a UNIFI Spin-off. The monograph gathers contributions from project participants who describe the case study and offer proposals for the restoration and repurposing of the Convent into a Training Center for Heritage Management and Conservation for Cuba and the Caribbean.

Giacomo Tempesta: Associate Professor of Structural Engineering. He has been involved in teaching and research since 1978 at the School of Architecture in Florence, where he held courses in Statics, Structural Engineering, and Statics and Stability of Masonry Structures. He is currently a teacher at the School of Specialization in Architectural and Landscape Heritage.

Jacopo G. Vitale: Architect and Doctor in Architecture. Since 2012, he has been a partner and co-founder of DiaCon srl, formerly an academic spin-off of the University of Florence. He has experience in managing private and public construction projects in Italy and abroad. He has held courses at UNAM in Mexico City, Cairo University, Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba, and Morelos University in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
