Only recently recognised as a pathological form of addiction Gambling Disorders currently constitute a real social emergency. Through a systematic treatment, based on the critical analysis of the most recent literature, the book offers an overview allowing the reader to reconstruct a complete and exhaustive view of the gambling behaviour and the stages of the gambler’s “career”. The volume also offers an in-depth, interdisciplinary perspective on the complex factors that contribute to the onset and maintenance of the Gambling’s spiral, the explanatory paradigms and the possible prevention and intervention models. The volume therefore represents an important contribution, not only for professionals, but also for all those who, for various reasons, intend to approach gambling issues and wish to fully understand their broad clinical, economic and social implications.
