L'Epistolario di Anton Francesco Gori

Saggi critici, antologia delle lettere e indice dei mittenti
  • Edited by:

  • Maria Grazia Marzi,

The volume collects several essays dedicated to the figure of Anton Francesco Gori. A point of reference for eighteenth-century Tuscan antiquarian studies, Gori was not only a scholar, but also acted as the organisational core for the Florentine culture and the bibliographic and publishing initiatives of the time. The immense amount of letters sent to him, preserved at the Marucelliana Library in Florence, has been the subject of a strategic project of the University of Florence aimed at cataloguing, computerizing and putting such heritage online. The volume is part of the project and includes, in addition to the essays, a significant anthology of the letters and a complete index of the correspondence by senders.
