This series is promoted by the Istituto Internazionale di Storia Economica 'F. Datini'. It contains essays on the economic history of the pre-industrial age, including the proceedings of the 'Settimane di Studi' (Study Weeks). The Institute, founded in 1967 on the initiative of Federigo Melis, immediately taken up by Fernand Braudel and an important group of scholars, is one of the leading international institutions working in the field of pre-industrial economic history. The series fully supports Open Access publishing as an ideal tool to share ideas and knowledge in every research field with an open, collaborative and non-profit approach.
