This book, the fruit of multiple teaching experiences - in particular, the basic Greek course for university students and the Greek language teaching course at the School of specialization for the Italian Postgraduate School for the Secondary education (SSIS) - meets a twofold need: to essentialise and rationalize the study of ancient Greek (showing the interdependence between the various linguistic levels and thus helping to create synergy between different phenomena) and to adequately enhance important aspects usually overlooked or marginalized (such as semantics, the organization of the text, or syntax). Hand in hand with the morphological study, the reader is led to reflect on all the most important linguistic structures of Greek, in a gradual path that overcomes the rigid traditional scanning of topics, and also exploits unexpected analogies with expressive phenomena of modern languages.
