What does it mean for Domenico Starnone to tell a story? From his debut with Ex Cattedra to his latest works, which mark him as one of the most intriguing authors in the Italian literary scene, this study attempts to unify all his work, both narrative and otherwise, under a single discourse. After identifying a repertoire of images that runs through the entire corpus of the writer's works, this study analyzes the strategies at the foundation of Starnone's literary creation and seeks to pinpoint the processes that allow a great reader to continuously identify with endless self-inventions.
