This series hosts interdisciplinary studies on the history of Central-Eastern, Balkan and Eastern Europe, attempting to reconstruct the medieval and modern cultural history of this geographical area reaching the Adriatic shores to the west, and the mouth of the Volga River to the east. The subject matter of the publications includes the areas mostly occupied by Slavic peoples and the process of acculturation and integration of their inhabitants into the Mediterranean culture. This long-lasting process, characterised by the rivalry between the Latin-Germanic and Byzantine worlds and their complex relations with the Asian populations of the steppes, marked the subsequent modern developments.
Authors are cordially invited to submit proposals and/or full manuscripts to the series editors, lpubblici@unior.it and marcello.garzaniti@unifi.it.
