This book explores how Public History can be applied to the history of reading, placing the experiences of ordinary readers at its core. Through diaries, letters, interviews, memories, and autobiographical testimonies, it encourages reflection on the deeper meaning of reading, its diverse educational roles, and the various contexts in which it occurs. The work frequently examines the relationship between national history and individual memory, as well as the interplay between History and personal stories.
